Background

It is a great honor that we at the Chang Fo-Chuan Center for the Study of Human Rights at Soochow University, Taipei had been invited to host the Fourth International Conference on Human Rights Education in the year 2013. We will be following three illustrious predecessors: the University of Western Sydney in 2010, with the theme for the conference being Education for Human Rights, Peace and Intercultural Dialogue, University of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa in 2011, Celebrating Diversity and Advancing Social Justice, and the third conference at the Jagiellonian University, Poland, Promoting Change in Times of Transition and Crisis.

For the over-arching theme for our 2013 Conference, we have decided on Global Convergence and Local Practice: The Scope and Depth of Human Rights Education Reexamined. The Conference will be divided into 8 sections.

3 Social Welfare Rights,
4 LGBT issues,
5 Abolition of Death Penalty,
6 Migrant Workers and Marriage Immigration,
7 Globalization, Civic Education and Human Rights Education,

The dates of the Conference are from November 21th to November 26th and the venue, the campus of Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan.
